How to use AMPS

SAARF’s All Media and Products Survey (AMPS) is the accepted currency for print readership in South Africa. It supplies average issue readership (AIR) figures – how many readers each title has, rather than how many copies are circulated – for all print titles with a circulation above 20 000. (Titles with circulations over 10 000 are added to the AMPS questionnaire at the request of the media owner.)

On top of readership figures however, AMPS is a vast source of other data which print owners can use to great benefit.

AMPS provides data on three general categories

–    demographics,
–    media,
–    products/brands
